Create a mountain in your heart
This was one of the earliest Peachings I made. It was for a lady who loved nature and wanted to be out there, not stuck at a desk in a gray cubicle in a large heavy building in the city. She felt suffocated and trapped.
“Create a mountain in your heart” was a phrase from a wise man in feudal Japan when a disciple asked to go to the mountain to train. His lesson was that you can train anywhere, for your mind and attitude is what you are training. But also, that you are able to bring the mountain to you.
Our minds are powerful. Like Mariko-san said in the Shogun series, it can create walls and spaces within. These spaces within aren’t small cramped cells to hide in, but can be as vast and beautiful as one can imagine. Just how entire worlds and dimensions can be put onto a tiny video game chip, when the mind, body, and spirit work together, there are very few things that are impossible.
