Strong and Resilient as Bamboo
There was a cherished member of our temple who passed away at ninety years old. He was someone you could always rely on; straightforward, solid, honest and hard working. He believed in integrity, working with your own two hands, and toughing out life, yet he was also so sweet and kind to his wife and family. His smile and care for others will always remain in our hearts.
The card was made as a tribute to him in his celebration of life pamphlet. A reminder for us and his family of how he was, how he wanted us to be, and how we could continue to honor his memory.
Honesty and integrity are key foundations that strengthen our self-worth as well as our reputation with others. Too often we say, “well everybody does it”, or “just this once” knowing we shouldn’t. While this may be true, those tiny little cracks of guilt build up in our sub-consciousness, weakening our foundation over time. Are you being your authentic self or perhaps giving in to peer pressure?
Be true to yourself. Be true to others. It will bring clarity and joy to your heart.
